Scope
aims to equip qualified officials from IMO Member States with the auditing knowledge and skills to assist in ensuring the effective implementation of the applicable IMO instruments and to assist Member States in improving their capabilities.
Objectives
The objective of this training is to develop specific skills in auditing Member States using the IMO Instruments Implementation (III) Code as the audit standard, and to prepare the country to undergo the audit by carrying out internal audits.
Entry Standards
The training is addressed to Member States officials who are or will be appointed to represent their organizations during the IMSAS audit. It includes information on the background and the latest developments, the framework and procedures for the audit scheme, an overview of functions and responsibilities, preparation for the audit, as well as the necessary post audit actions. Participants should have a basic knowledge of the function of a Maritime Administration and familiar with the IMO mandatory instruments provisions applied on ships.
