This course will provide participants with a range of practical advices on planning and preparing for ship surveys, in connection with the actions to be taken during the process.
Preparation for a survey: this includes scheduling the survey within the survey scope and that all necessary documents are held onboard.
Clarification of what has to be done during the survey: ensuring that all relevant personnel are available, are aware of the key survey areas and know how to deal with questions
Actions to be taken as a survey follow up: learning what actions are needed to cope with possible shortcomings.
At the end of this course participants will be able to schedule, plan and prepare for a survey. They will have the skill to interpret survey requirements and recognize what can and cannot be done within the Rules of Classification and Statutory Regulations, in order to identify Port State Control issues and the consequences of ship detention.
This course is suited to superintendents, ship officers and other marine personnel involved in the preparation for and execution of ship surveys.
